Amanda's Soft Ginger Cookies

1 cup sugar 2 eggs
1 cup shortening (crisco) 1 cup molasses
1/4 hot water 3 tsp baking powder
1 tbs ginger 1 tbs baking soda
1 tbs cinnamon 1 tsp salt
4-5 cups flour

Combine sugar, shortening & hot water. Stir & then add 2 eggs & molasses. Combine dry ingredients & add to batter. Make batter into small balls & roll in sugar. Then press down lightly onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees 8-10 min or until done.
